Understanding Tags
I do not understand how tags works within Logos. I am not even sure I have ever made a tag. I see that all original language words are tagged but how is that based on analysis. How can I find an overview of my tags and where they are located? Do tags create readily apparent collections? Are tags required to refine rule-defined collections?

It's important to recognise there are different types of tags that can be applied in different contexts:
- You can, for example, create and apply a tag to a book and then filter your library to just show books with that tag
- You can add a tag to a note and then filter the Notes Tool to just show notes with that tag
- You can add a tag to a Clipping and search on those
- There are Factbook tags that provide links between words in books to relevant Factbook articles
So is there any specific area you are interested in?
I see that all original language words are tagged but how is that based on analysis.
These are applied by Logos and we can't modify those ourselves (the exception to this is Factbook Tags where we can add our own).
Do tags create readily apparent collections? Are tags required to refine rule-defined collections?
You can use tags (applied to books) to help form collections but they are not required for this.
If this doesn't address your questions, please provide more details regarding what exactly you are looking for.

Add personal tags to Factbook? I did not know this...but will explore it.

Does one have to have a certain package or higher to have this capability? I don't seem to have the capability. I found it. It seems one cannot tag Personal Books.

It's in Starter or above - but please note we can't add tags to Bibles

Thanks Graham. It seems one cannot Factbook tag a personal book, which I was trying to do. Thanks as always.
This will definitely cause me to work with Factbook more. I can build my own tags... I did not know this.
Edit: I just did add a Factbook tag to my NKJV. I checked and it worked.

That's interesting, thanks for letting me know.
It looks as though that restriction has been lifted.

Hi Tes
As a starting point please see:
- https://wiki.logos.com/Collections#Creating_Rules

Then if there are specific follow up questions I suggest starting a new thread so we don't derail this one.

Graham....
I have not used Factbook that much. Here are some questions I have about it:
1. In Windows using Logos Dark Mode.... with all Factbook Indicators checked.... the "blue line" indicating a word in my bible is "Factchecked" is not there?
2. Since all users can create "Factbook Tags" then is it reasonable to assume that the "Factbook experience" should be enhanced more by the more users that do create Factbook tags or does the "Created by users" check only apply to tags I create?
Edit: 3. I think I know the answer to this, but.... is there a way I can see just the Factbook Tags I create? If not I think this would be a great feature to have in Factbook. As it is, Factbook is overwhelming. I look up something and get the world view of that something and then have to wade through all the weeds to find the thing I want information about. This is why I stopped using Factbook. I want help to find something, but not another avenue to have to do more research.
Thanks.

I don't use Dark Mode so can't comment on that

It is reasonable - assuming that the tags that users create are valid and helpful. The Created by users check enables the display of all tags created by all users.

This is not currently possible but I agree it would be really helpful.
