Working offline

I keep having problems working offline where after a few days, several resources will suddenly say "This resource is no longer in your library" or "This resource is not available" or the like, and sometimes will include a blurb at the bottom "If you were working online we could tell you more."

If I turn on internet, restart, and wait just long enough for it to send data, almost everything starts working again, even if I have download new books and syncing features both turned off so that nothing should change.

I have two questions:

1). How do I set Logos to send me useful error messages rather than telling me to connect online?

2). Why do I have to sign in every few days or have my resources, including public domain resources, get turned off?

Thank you for the two questions. I am particularly interested in question 2.
Is it really the case that, in addition to the public domain books, the books that I have paid for are not available offline? I have invested quite a lot of money in my library and let's assume that due to some technical circumstance (hacker attack etc.) the Logos servers would be unavailable for days. Would I then have to stop working because the books have to be "confirmed" online from time to time? Is this stated somewhere in the terms and conditions?

No, they are available offline IF you have downloaded them to your device. Some Logos added features may not be available, however.

No, they don't have to be.

No because it is not true.

I did not answer the OP because I couldn't put together what sequence of events would create the sequence they describe ... there is a piece missing from the puzzle as to why the OP is having problems.

It's good to know that my beloved library is also available offline. It is logical and understandable that some functionalities are not possible offline.

The questions assume that the events you describe are necessarily a part of working offline. But we need more information about the events you describe e.g. what resources give this message. Is this reproducible so that you can provide steps and screenshots, or even a video.

Provide a screenshot of your layout and describe why you prefer working offline.

Also if those resources are downloaded onto your device. I have seen those messages when the resource is in the cloud or as a temporary message when I have just downloaded the resource from the cloud.

Thank you for the responses. I apologize for the slow response. I got called into work for a long day prior to and through Christmas, so I spent my free time with the children.

I have downloaded my files. I always install a full set. I have had this problem for some time, and I have tried it with the following setups:

Windows 10, Windows 10 on a VirtualBox VM, and via Wine on Linux. Lately I have used the latter, because I like the overall system better.

The issue is sporadic. Sometimes it happens every couple of days, and sometimes I can go two months without having it. There is no noticeable difference in frequency in the setups. I do not know the sequence of events that leads to it. I shut down Logos, and sometimes it occurs. Sometimes it will clear up by briefly going online or by rebooting the machine.

My most commonly used resources are:
Lexham English Septuagint 2e, World English Bible with Deuterocanon, Cambridge Paragraph Bible (Scrivener's), ESV-CE, Robinson-Pierpoint NT in the Original Greek, Antonides Byzantine Greek New Testament, Swete's LXX, Logos LXX with morphological analysis, Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia, Liddell, BDAG, the Lexham lexicons, Dictionary of Classical Hebrew, and a few others more sporadically. Then I use whatever book I'm reading now (lately it's Benjamin Kantor's book).

I have associated the events with working offline, because they do not occur if I work online, there is the occasional message that says "If you were working online we could tell you more" instead of an error message, and if I connect even briefly it resolves the issue. If I had error messages, I would probably troubleshoot it myself, but there are no error messages. I have not had the issue again since I posted.

Running Logos under an Windows emulation layer is problematic for you, even if it runs the supported versions of Windows What version of Logos?

How often do you go online to sync and download updates?

I've had this problems with others Windows proper too. I switched to emulation layers, first a VM then Wine, when I got a computer beefy enough for the former then when Wine could do it on the latter. Logos was the sole reason I had a Windows system. If I hadn't seen this on Windows with bare metal, I'd probably not have given it a thought and considered it a price for emulation.

I just updated Logos so 10.1.0.0056.

I update only when I have issues.

The messages appear in Logos itself where the resource should be.

That is a main window followed by floating windows. I have them scattered on several monitors.

I just updated Logos so 10.1.0.0056.

This is one year old and is no longer supported You need to update to the latest version 30.1 (30.1.38) and a supported version of Windows as per the links in https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360007391412
