Using the Windows 11 Natural Voices for Narrator
So I have a feeling I already know the answer, but on the off chance there's a registry hack I don't know about, I'm posting here.
I've known for some time that I process information much faster/more reliably if I hear AND read it. I recently started my MDiv program and the first quarter was torture with reading assignments until I found ways to get my books read to me (last quarter I used a book scanner and OCR conversion). This coming quarter, I found that all but one of my books is actually significantly cheaper to buy on Logos, so I've gone that route. My seminary got a reduced deal on Logos 8 so that we're all talking the same version.
The Read Aloud feature seems to only be using the TTS SAPI5 voices that are set using the old Win7 style Control Panel application. I was successfully able to use some registry trickery to use one of the updated voices that's available through the language packs and sound marginally better than the default David voice.
Does anyone know if there is a way to get the Natural voices working in Logos 8? Or even if Logos 10 has support for these voices (I'm strongly considering upgrading)? I've tried using the Windows Narrator, but something about how the document pane is locked down makes navigation all but impossible.

Updating to the Logos 10 engine is free: https://www.logos.com/get-started (engine version is actually 30+). But that won't help with your question, I don't think there were any changes to the Read aloud function...

The phone app seems to do a better job.

Bumping this topic as I'm hoping Logos will be able to use the Narrator voices as the TTS SAPI5 voices are kind of dry. Siri on MacOS is perfectly functional but Narrator voices are not. It's odd.

This would be a very nice enhancement. Is it on the roadmap or can it be added?
