Lion Handbook to the bible
I've had a hardcover edition of the "Lion Handbook to the Bible" for over 30 years, since my early 20s, and I consult it regularly. It's still the best single-volume handbook. Is it possible to get an electronic copy of this in Logos software?

Hi Dexter,
Welcome to the Logos forums!
Looks like this is a favorite of many. I looked it up on Amazon, and it's now in its fifth edition (published in 2017) but has never been done as a Kindle book. It would definitely take a powerhouse Bible software company like Logos to properly digitize it with smart tagging and all. I do think it would be a great addition to the Logos catalog.
The best way to make suggestions these days is to post on the Logos Book Requests board on Logos's Feedback site and then post here a link to that suggestion to invite fellow users to vote for it. Logos looks at popularity of requests to help prioritize book rights acquisitions. I know they've done a number of other books from Lion Books, so they have a relationship with that publisher already, which helps.
I've posted the suggestion for you, since I think it is a good one, so you can go vote for it here. You'll need to log into that site with your Logos login credentials. (I think once you've done it once you stay logged in.)

I voted for it. There is a Kindle edition. I'm not sure if that will make Logos job easier.
It is better than the Holman Handbook, which Logos has "planned," at least thats what I remember from browsing it over 20 years ago .

I hadn't been able to find one. Took me a while to figure out that it's available in the UK and Australia only, not the US or Canada. I have an account on the UK Amazon, but it won't let me buy the Kindle version because I don't have a UK address.
But at least it's good to know that it exists, which indeed will make it more likely that Logos can get this. Here's hoping for lots of votes!

Hi Rosie,
I noticed that the Lion Handbook to the bible is now available in Logos but Aussies can't buy it.
Do you have any insight into this?

I was lucky and able to buy it from Germany. Geo-restrictions appear for Logos products (publishers impose them) and are far more common for eBooks than for Logos editions. Most often, US or North America works and everything else doesn't. I feel sorry for you that they exclude you from it.
Have joy in the Lord!

This is sad to hear the Aussies can't buy this through Logos. The reason I want it in Logos is that when I open my Bible, I can have the book open alongside.
This is the most helpful book for insights outside what is written in the pages of the bible.

This is the same product but through a different publisher : Zondervan Handbook to the Bible, 5th ed.

- Better, this is a Logos Research Edition.
- But bad for me... "The publisher has not made this resource available for purchase in your country or region."

I see the same - lucky to have the Lion Handbook (even though it's only an eBook - would be awesome if it could be included in the "Index of Logos Bible Studies")

Hmm, looking at it again. It is the same Authors. Dave & Pat Alexander. I did not realise they published under two Companies!

I have it in my bookshelf, a paperback edition from 1987.
On the back cover it says: "This special edition is not for sale in UK, Europe, N.America, South Africa, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Korea and Japan"
I probably bought it in Kenya with a very reasonable price. Thus I assume it was a subsidized edition for the developing countries.
It makes sense in that case. But do geographical limitations make sense anymore, in this digital and global age? [:|]
