Don't higher level base packages subsume lower level base packages?

Hi,

I realized recently that I seem to have bought all of the resources contained in Logos 6 Pentecostal Gold because of various other packages that I've bought over time. My understanding is that the Bronze adds more resources to Starter, and Silver adds more resources to Bronze and Gold adds more resources to Silver etc.

What I was surprised to find, though, is that I don't have all the resources in the lower level base packages of Logos 6 Pentecostal Starter, Logos 6 Pentecostal Starter, and Logos 6 Pentecostal Silver. Is this even possible? Any reasons why this might be so?

Thank you.

That's what my Logos 6 libraries look like. Look at this to see what yours look like.

Occasionally in the past Logos made adjustments to their base packages during the time they were available. As I recall, sometimes this had to do with the loss of licensing rights. If this happened after you purchased your base package and they also substituted something in place of the resource or resources lost you would see what you are observing. If this is what happened, you may also have a resource or two that was taken out and is no longer in the Logos 6 Gold package you have.

That's they only explanation I can come up with.

This is how it works, yes, and therefore it's unusual to hear

It seems, something weird happened at some time with this line of packages. The explanation Mark gave is something I can imagine, still it rather sounds like an omission in the L6 P&C Gold composition. It should only be one or two books, though.

Could it be because he did not buy the base package (P&C Gold 6) but had purchased the resources at one time or another that were in the base package. I know it sounds like it should be the same, but maybe it's not. Just a shot in the dark.

Thank you all for chiming in. This issue has been resolved. The short answer is that this was an aberration on the part of Logos. Let me elaborate.

Today, when I went to Logos website, it told me that I now did not own Logos 6 Pentecostal Gold even thought I owned at the time of the original post. What changed? I did some snooping on my own (because Logos customer service was not helpful). I had the PDF of all the resources Logos said I owned of Logos 6 Pentecostal Gold as of the original post. As I was scanning the resources in the PDF, I noticed a Wesleyan commentary. That was odd for a Pentecostal Library, wasn't it. It got me thinking that maybe they wrongly put the label of Logos 6 Pentecostal Gold for the Logos 6 Methodist Gold (which I had bought long back). Sure enough, comparing the resources, I realized that this is indeed the explanation!

Thus, it looks like when I found this aberration and posted, sometime before that, it seems that someone at Logos must have been tinkering and mistakenly assigned Logos 6 Pentecostal Gold to the Logos 6 Methodist Gold library. Now it has been corrected and all things are back to normal.

    Thank you to everyone.

That's kind of odd, but good detective work. I was curious, so I appreciate your sorting that out.

"Subsume" is now added to my vocabulary. Thanks,
