How about offering...drum roll, please...Ben Yehuda's Hebrew Dictionary on Community Pricing? It's over 100 years old, I'm pretty sure, so it is very likely in the public domain. I'd be all over that offering, like beans on rice.
If that particular resource isn't available, then perhaps Logos could find a more recent Hebrew dictionary. To be specific, I am looking for a dictionary that includes the broadest possible Hebrew vocabulary, so I am thinking a multi-volume set is likely what I want. I also want it to have niqquud, and I personally would like it to indicate the proper emphasized syllable (similar to cantillation).
It doesn't necessarily have to be the most recent--something from the 50's-70's would be acceptable. And most of all, I'm not particularly desiring HEBREW-ENGLISH or ENGLISH-HEBREW. I'm pretty sure Yehuda's dictionary does have English (French and Russian too, I think). Mainly, I just want to be able to look up non-biblical Hebrew words and get the exact niqquud spelling and also know the proper stress for pronunciation.
That said, the best option of all would be to have both Yehuda's dictionary, and a more recent but equally thorough resource so that I could compare and contrast. Again, Hebrew to English and/or English to Hebrew is not the concern as much as providing accuracy of information. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing these on CP in the coming days.
