Is this a solid state device?
Experience has shown that having an SSD provides a significant performance boost.
I'd look at that first - then there are varying views as to whether 8GB of RAM is enough.
I'm an infant at comupter technicalities. Can you tell me how to find the details? I've found some details, but I'm not sure if its pertinent.
