This may be a bit off-the-wall as a suggestion but it would be wonderful to have a MIY catena capability. The way I see it working is:
- one does a search on a verse, range of verses, pericope ...
- this range becomes an entry in the catena - along with the content of the verses in the translation(s) of your choice
- this gives you a list of potential sources of material for your catena
- you work through these sources, one at a time
- if you find material you want to include, highlight the text and add it to the catena (behavior should be much like clippings)
- you can move the material up or down via a drag and drop action
- when you are done with a source, regardless of whether you have selected any material, you mark the source as done.
- you may stop work at any time; when you come back to work on it, you will be positioned at the first resource from the search that is not marked done.
- the resulting catena is treated like a Logos book with the ability to be included in a link set, searched, highlighted, add notes, etc.
- when you have purchased new resources, the next time you open the catena it will generate the search results for each of the ranges you have defined ... you work through the list in same way you did the original search results
- you can manually add entries from outside sources - preferably being prompted to provide the same bibliographic information as is generated when one "clips" a Logos source
At least one person thinks this is a "way cool" idea - me. [:D]
Edit: since at least 2 of us like the idea, I've put it on uservoice http://logos.uservoice.com/forums/42823-logos-bible-software-4/suggestions/1012817-add-a-make-it-yourself-catena-function-as-descibed
