Logos 10 Full Feature Upgrade Decision Help

I am currently on Logos 8. I started on Logos Series X many years ago and also migrated over from WordSearch. Also have a pretty substantial hard copy library. I have been eyeing Logos 10 for a while. Right now I think I could get the Logos 10 Full Feature Upgrade for around $600 (with 20% off). Is that a good deal or should I wait for a better deal? Also, Logos 11 might release this year? Thoughts and guidance welcome please. Thanks!

It is a good sale and perhaps the best you'll get at this point in the cycle if getting an academic discount isn't in the cards. It is a good upgrade, especially for someone with a big print library, since it will give you the ability to search your print books in Logos.
If past trends continue, Logos 11 will be released in October. I think 10 is a great upgrade and wouldn't wait, but that is a very personal decision. There will probably be modestly better sales on Logos 11 when it comes out.

The latest software edition is Logos Bible Study 31.3.32 if you are not using that then there is no penalty for upgrading.

It is only a good deal if the 'Full Feature Upgrade' is something you 'need'. Otherwise it is a waste of money at any price.
If it is something you simply 'want' then it might be a good deal at the quoted price.

Thank Mike; practical and universal advice on a potential purchase.
I just looked and I am currently running Logos Bible Study 31.2.31. I am not sure what you mean by "The latest software edition is Logos Bible Study 31.3.32 if you are not using that then there is no penalty for upgrading"? Can you elaborate?

Not Mike.
You said you were on Logos 8. It's a problem created by two systems of numbering ... and foreseen. Good you're up to date-ish.
I'd assume your decision on Full-Feature should be do you need the individual features? The discount can go up to 30% but not recently ... more like 25% max. I upgrade once in a while, but almost never the Full Feature ... don't need it.

He means that the software is free. There was no reason for you to be using a "Logos 8" engine, which would be many (many!) years out of date. By "there is no penalty," I think he just meant, "it is free, so update."
There has been a problem with nomenclature, but this is in the process of being resolved. It used to be that the software engine utilized the same naming scheme as the base packages and feature sets. By this I mean, you purchased a "Logos 8" base package and you were using "Logos 8" software engine. The naming schema for the software has now been divorced from the base packages / feature sets. The goal is for everyone to be using the most up to date engine as possible. (The engine has always been free, but sometimes users had to wait a few months to update if they did not make a purchase. It seems that will no longer be the case).

I concur. The only thing I will add is this: A "Faithlife Connect" subscription should be investigated. This would be an alternative way to acquire (through rental) the features. The newer the user, the longer it has been since they paid for the features, the better a "deal" it is. My 2¢ is that my prime concern is my resources. If I lose the features, it isn't the end of the world. For some users, this is the best path.
