Logos 10 on Windows 10: Installation Error

I am new to Logos and "migrate" from the free Version to Logos 10 Silver. Everything seems to have worked OK, but every time when I start Logos 10 I get the error "The installation of Logos Bible Study did not succeed" (screenshot attached) and in the bottom left corner in the Desktop Application it says "Installing application  update.." but there is no progress indicator or anything. It just never seems to finish.

I have re-run the installer but it says that the application is up to date.

What can I do? What log files (on Windows 10) can I check etc. to get closer to find out what the error is?

Welcome! [:)] Sorry you are having troubles. [:s]

I would start by going to THIS thread, which contains the announcement of the (currently as of writing) newest engine. I wonder if you have downloaded an old version and are trying to install that. You should NOT be installing any version of "Logos 10" (the software).

Jörg, counterintuitively, the forum editor does not accept screenshots when they are pasted - even though they are shown in your post. The easiest way is to use the paperclip icon in the editor and add them as file (jpg or png will both work).

I hope that JT's advise will help you - otherwise it is difficult to troubleshoot installation issues. One thing that I've seen in the past was when people tried to install Logos on an external USB drive instead of the internal SSD: such external drives sometimes are formatted as ExFAT, but Logos requires NTSF to install properly.

On the other hand: if the free version is running properly on your machine, and you have enough free space on your (hopefully) SSD or HDD, there's actually no need to reinstall as the engine is the same between the free version and the paid base packages. A screenshot of the "About page" would help telling us what is currently installed. Mine looks like this (it's different from most since I'm on the beta program)

Thank you! This solved it for me. I re-installed on an NTFS formatted partition and it all works now.
