ESV footnotes not downloaded offline. Why?

I downloaded the ESV to my ipad to use offline but noticed that neither the footnotes nor cross references work without being online.

Another post I saw said this is not part of the app, but I have to ask why not?

In the case of the ESV they are part of the actual book (not just extra logos tools) and I expected to have a Bible offline rather than just the text of a Bible.

Does this mean that all books we can download for offline use that contain footnotes (like in a commentary for instance) are not downloaded? Then what do you call what is in fact downloaded?

Is this going to change? I have not seen anything that says this is in the pipeline.

But surely it needs to be fixed and added if downloading a book for use offline is going to actually mean what it says!

Have others found this problem with other books downloaded for offline use where footnotes are part fo the book itself?

Any idea of timeline Dave since a friend of mine pointed out to me a post I had missed way back on Jan 7 saying the same thing?

Also I still feel the announcement of offline reading in the logos blog (http://blog.logos.com/archives/2010/01/offline_reading_with_logos_iphone_app_version_122.html) one of the final reasons I bought an ipad now, was definitely misleading.

Such statements as:

"So before you
head to your small group, your men’s or women’s Bible study, out to the
park, or if you’d just like to sink into your favorite chair and read
your Bible or favorite commentary, make sure you make your preferred
Bible translation and other favorite books available offline"

certainly gave me the impression that I would get whole books to read offline not just text with no footnotes or references - fairly vital in some of my "favorite commentaries".

I know it will come. I'm glad about that. I would just like Logos to let me know when the real intention is to phase in over time the ability to read whole books, the intial phase being text only.

I eagerly await its addition!
