Pre Pub Notifications

I find myself curious and a bit confused when I check my pre pub listing. I have preordered a number of announced titles over the last few years. I can understand the distinction between "gathering interest" and "in production" designations. I become confused when it comes to the titles that are assigned a "ship" date or shipping quarter. I understand the calendar, but struggle when the ship date changes from one day to the next. Or even when one day the title is shipping and the next day it is "in production" and then later in the day it can be shipping again. Unfortunately, the titles do not arrive and dates are moved again.
It seems to me that this problem has been particularly acute over the last few months with different titles and different books one day shipping and the next day not. I believe that Logos is a pretty reliable and efficient with their products. But I am wondering about the pre pub information. I would like to get my pennies together in a timely manner and keep my cash flow and library expansion working together.
Is my experience an unusual bumpy section of the road that is being addressed or should I find a new strategy to think about cash flow?

I can't answer for your budget. Back when I started with Logos, every single purchase was on a frayed shoestring budget.
If your pre-pub purchases are on a debit card, this could be a real challenge if you don't have enough money. I would just suggest you keep enough available to cover yourself for a month at a time. Logos sends out heads up emails for when books are coming out.
Don't set your watch to Logos production schedules. That's all I know for sure.
