I suspect the publisher provides the metadata ... if they are inconsistent then Logos will be as well.
Well since functionality is built around series names/resources in a series, they should figure out a way to fix this. It's been years with numerous errors. This breaks functionality based on books in a series.
I agree. It is complicated by the use of the series to mean different things - series as in treat books as it a single resource (Bible commentary) and series as in a publisher's series of independent books (Classics of Western Spirituality), which I muck up further by using it to piece back together items printed as a single volume by divided into multiple resources by Logos.

I don't know, it was from this bundle from Lexham Press, Introduction to the Psalms Bundle - and all of them have series as "Studies in Scripture & Biblical Theology". Which, come to think of it, refutes MJ's thought that the metadata came from another publisher, as I suspect Lexham curated/commissioned these books to be written/published?
Yes, if those are "Lexham," Logos should be in charge.
I seem to remember them doing a huge cleanup of series titles and author names eight or ten years ago. May be time for another.
Again this goes back to Quality Control. Several books have shipped in the last few weeks with terrible formatting and I have also seen these series errors in the past. Logos needs to designate someone to do a quick review of each book (preferably before it ships) or within a week after it ships. Metadata should be reviewed, series name, author, title, photo, etc. along with a quick review of the contents. I'm not saying someone should read the resource but it couldn't hurt to take a few minutes and scroll through it for improperly formatted (or missing) photos, charts, tables or just general text to make sure it isn't jumbled or crammed together.
If Logos books have value added to them, we should see it.

It is really annoying when you are making a collection using series names. You end up with 37 books in your collection when you should have 47. Then you have to go through and manually find and change the ones that are wrong so your collection is correct.
FL definitely need to improve their QC with series names and other metadata. It doesn't take much effort to check for typos as well as maintain consistency, irrespective of the publisher's peccadilloes. Having said that, I usually combine NT/OT series for my own convenience e.g. NICOT/NICNT become a single series. Or I alter a series name for brevity. This has much to do with the way they are listed in PG.

Edit: Much better than fixing the typo would be consolidation of the series under the "Tauchnitz Edition".
