BUG: Bible references change the font

I'm running Logos 32.0.29 on Mac Sonoma 14.3.1.

I fully accept the possibility that I've changed something in settings (it if is, please direct me to the right spot), but can the programmers please flip the switch so that Bible references are not changed to a different font than is used in the note? It's just ugly, folks. The color change alone is enough to indicate that it's a link.

Are you saying that bible references assume a different font to the rest of the text when/after they have been entered? What happens when you paste from a book?

If you select text that includes bible references does altering the font correct the situation?

But, yes, Bible references become a different font when Logos turns them into a link. It happens when I paste text as well. It cannot be changed from that font. And, when scrolling the cursor through the reference text in blue, the font name in the selection box remains the chosen font, NOT the font in which the reference is displayed.

I can reproduce that in Notes in Windows 11, but Clippings are unaffected.

OK, so it's a quirk in Logos that we can hope might one day be addressed.

It appears that the Bible reference font is Source Sans Pro. When I use that for the Notes font, there is no visible change to references. Still needs to be fixed, though, in my view.

This is exactly the mistake that bothers me, too. Is there any hope that this will be corrected?

Incidentally, only biblical passages are affected by the formatting problem. Other hyperlinks are not changed.

@Gregory Lawhorn I can duplicate this behavior you mention: once a Bible reference is typed, it automatically changes the font for that reference. I experience this in both Mac and Windows.

If I copy and paste any text of any kind into a Note, the font automatically changes to the default font, even if I have selected a different font for that Note.

I can't duplicate the stubborn behavior you show in your video, where it is not possible to change the font for the Bible references afterward.

I am opening a ticket for this issue:

When using a non-default font in a Note, typed Bible references do not respect the currently selected font.

This at least is a start.

When you copy and paste in notes ,right click and choose "Paste without Formatting" and it will paste with the default size and font that you have set for notes in "Program Settings"

Program Settings have a setting for default book font and also an additional default font and size for "notes"

But this does not address the mentioned problem (all bible references are automatically formated into another font than the default notes font, apperantely Source Sans Pro). This appears also when just typing a bible reference.

Surprisingly I have now made an interesting observation: It is in fact possible to format these bible references afterwards into any other font (not the default font). But(!): when putting the reference into bold, italic or underline, it switches again into Source Sans Pro (or whatever). Funny … 🤪

One further addition: The problem occurs also with regard to greek font when "standard font" ist active. I use Palatino Linotype - also as standard greek font. When I insert text with greek words and "standard font" is selected, the greek words are displayed in some other font. When I select all the inserted text and change the font to "Palatino Linotype", all - incl the greek words - is displayed in that font. When switching again to "standard font" it displayed as in the beginning (i.e. wrong).
