Ephrem the Syrian and Jewish

Where does Ephrem the Syrian run on Jewish Christianity spectrum? I am trying to discern what he knew of Jewish Christianity in the first 3-6 centuries AD. I know he is Syriac. I read Factbook and several encyclopedias. This is spurred from a book suggestion. Ephrem, a 'Jewish' Sage A Comparison of the Exegetical Writings of St. Ephrem the Syrian and Jewish Traditions by Elena Narinskaya.

Interesting PhD dissertation project - I know Kees den Biesen published a bibliography which is where I'd go for references. It is my understanding that by the 4th century the church at Edessa & Nisibis was becoming less Jewish in its liturgy and scripture interpretation and developing its own distinct tradition. But one can certainly see elements of Jewish scripture interpretation in his writings.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
