Reference Search Lag

In the past few months, I've noticed an annoying lag in the Mac Desktop app when I type in a reference into the search bar. For instance, if I am currently at Matthew 1, and I type in "Mk 1" quickly and hit enter, it stays at Matthew 1 and the search bar replaces "Mk 1" with "Matthew 1:1", as if I hadn't done anything. If I do it a second time, or if I type it in slowly, it works. It happens constantly, so I know it's not just that I had a typo in my search. Anyone else experiencing this?
