"Smart Search" not as smart as it should be.

My first Smart Search was for your example, "What happened at the Council of Nicea?" The results were great! However, when I used the alternative spelling "Nicaea," it gave me different results (depending on how the resource spelled the word). For example, with "Nicea", The Moody Handbook of Theology was included in the list. With "Nicaea", it wasn't.

Hopefully this kind of spelling variation issue can be taken into account, and Smart Search will continue to improve and become the robust tool it promises to be.

I agree with you on spelling... I spent some time yesterday banging on Smart Search. I found spelling to be somewhat of an issue... and hopefully it's a question of "learning"....

Try this.... Use Smart Search and ask... "Does Romans 2:14-15 contradict Ephesians 2:11-12?" [8-|]

New stuff usually is fun. Many times it challenges the thinking. I think all this "AI" stuff is nothing more than a tool. But... 1. It depends on how one uses the tool. 2. The tool should never be an "end all, trust all". The whole Logos program itself is nothing more than a tool... I am responsible to my God to know His word regardless of the tools I use to help me in that endeavor. I remind myself daily that I need to keep my "eye on the ball" in that regard.

AI in Logos is not perfect, but I am finding it very helpful in bringing resources I own to my attention using normal language to search. I find myself using it as I study to ask questions of my library, not AI. AI does not generate any answers, but draws out resources from your library to answer your questions. Utilizing collections I can ask the question and limit the resources to a particular author or type of resource.
