ATTN Mark: Logos Pro - this is not right!!!

HI Mark, I reported in the long thread on Logos Pro that I subscribed on Thursday March 7th, and my confirmation said my first credit card charge would be on April 7th, and this was confirmed by email (see below). But lo and behold, a credit card transaction came across today, I was charged the $10.59 immediately! What's going on?

I read the confirmation to say "will RENEW on 4/7", not will begin. I don't "have a horse in the race" with your transactions with Logos, but the 3 exclamation points drew my attention. Feel free to disregard if my comment does not bring clarity to expectations.

Yes David - that is not correct - see the picture I posted in the OP, it said "will be charged" not will renew. And this aligns with the 30 day free offer.

Didn't Mark say it wasn't working right, and no fix until Monday? I'd wonder about un-doing yours, since apparently marketing is testing ... something.

It both says "will renew" and "will be charged" - I got the same email and I took it to mean that my subscription will renew in one month, at which time my card will be charged (again). Like so much of Logos's communication, wording could be better.

When free trial first came up:

Another question I would ask is, should there be a two week, or month-long free trial to Logos Pro? Again, I'm skeptical that I would ever go with a subscription model, barring the return of the personal book builder and mobile app access that I previously mentioned, but a free trial would at least give Logos a chance to try and convince me through the new features offered.

It's possible that some of you might be offered a trial and others not because the marketing folks are running some tests right now.

What shouldn't happen is that the /early-access page says one thing, and then the billing page says something else, as Frank was experiencing. We fixed a bug that we thought would help with this earlier today, but we'll look again.

Toward the top of the page it says "Start a free trial of Logos Pro for 30 days, then stay subscribed for just $9.99/month." Toward the bottom of the page it says "Enjoy 7 days free, then pay $9.99 per month." It doesn't look like I would get a much in terms of access to additional books that I don't already own, but I would like to test drive the new features. 7 days isn't really enough time for me to really decide if I would want to continue the subscription. Does anybody know if the free trial is for 7 days or 30 days, or yet another number of days?

Apologies. We thought we'd fixed this problem. We'll try again, although that won't be until Monday.

You can safely click on one of the buttons, and you'll be taken to a confirmation screen that will confirm exactly when you'll be charged. If you feel that's too soon, you can back out, and perhaps wait until we get a fix in place.

Mark out here doing all this work and marketing over there doing something else ... ahem, running a lucky dip: get no free trial OR get a free trial for 7 days OR get a free trial for 30 days!

If marketing wants to draw lots and give some customers free trials, that's great and all. However, if all customers are not entitled to free trials, then the Logos Pro page should not be showing anything about a free trial. Why mention free trial and not give it?

As for me, I subscribed before anything about free trials came up (I still can't figure if I missed the wording or they added it afterwards) so I'm not going to quibble about that for myself. I got what I paid for.

Hi Don. I'm so sorry you had this issue; I can certainly see how frustrating this is. As Mark stated earlier, we have been experiencing a particularly-tricky error on the web page causing this mis-match between the messaging on the page and what was actually happening with the subscription. I'm very happy to report that this has been resolved. I've also sent you an email to let you know this is fixed and extend an apology on behalf of Logos.
