Immutability and Community Tags

I have leveraged Community tags to reduce time creating mytags.

How immutable are Community tags?  

How likely are they to remain unchanged once they exist? If I create a rule or filter based on a community tag, I choose tags that seem likely to remain stable, but how wise is that?

If I create rules based on community tags that could change, might I someday regret not creating my own tags?

You will. I rely on my own tagging.

Do you use tag: or  communitytag: in your rule?

The "commentarydevotional" tag applied to 148 of my 990 commentaries, 4x Monograph, 1x Calendar Devotional, 1x Handbook, and 1x Study Guide.

1. I don't classify any commentary as "devotional"
2. i don't know that they are devotional
3. I can't be sure that the tag is maintained for all commentaries
4. I tagged 108 of the 148 commentaries as "Notes" because of their coverage.

The "Bible Commentary" tag applied to 33 of my 990 bible commentaries!  The "Commentary" tag applied to all but 2 of my commentaries that only had  "Bible Commentary"..

The "Aplogetics" tag matched 51 I had tagged, showed that I had applied a different tag to 54 books and probably not thought about it for 31 books. So the Community Tag could shape my thinking in this case.
