clause search return

I am running Logos 10 Portfolio and just starting to play with some features. What is the following search actually looking for?

First search: place:Caesarea Philippi gets 0 returns.

Second search: place:Villages of Caesarea Philippi gets 1 return.

And, just for grins after the above two:

Third search: place:Philippi gets several returns - but not the one from the second search.

When I use the example from the faithLife video (subject:God object:Jesus) it gives returns that do not have the words but I understand the correlation. My three queries above do not seem to provide topical/contextual or actual word returns.

Where can I find more information on the search algorithm or process?

These are searching for places tagged with the labels you specify. If you run a Bible search (as opposed to a Clause search) you can see where these occur in the Bible

So it is strange that you don't get results for your first search.

Looking at how the clause is structured (using the first one as an example) - it seems to have something like Caesarea of Philippi - whihc may be why the Clause search for the tagged word doesn't work. But this is only speculation, it would be good to get some clarification on this

Third search: place:Philippi gets several returns - but not the one from the second search.

That is because it is referring to a different place as shown in the equivalent Bible Search

I hope this helps a little but it would be good to get clarification on this

The search term of place: works in searching books, Bibles, morphology ... but it does not work in a clause search. Only the search terms listed on the clause search page can be used. grammatical and semantic roles are the primary items I use that are available only in the clause search.

Edit: My apologies. The format of the place term etc. is different - not requiring quotation marks or hyphens. I tried to check the wiki but didn't find the clause search and my laptop was rebuilding the app. There was obviously a glitch in my brain's memory.

Only the search terms listed on the clause search page can be used

But place: is shown as an example and works - am I missing your point, MJ?

The labels make sense as a possible explanation. I have a database background and am more accustomed to 'straight' SQL queries so this is a little different for me. I look forward to more time exploring this app (hopefully without the technology getting in the way of whatever I'm actually trying to study).

I'm sure I'm not smart enough about this utility yet to understand exactly what you mean - especially since the clause terms place and location show up in the list - depending on the target being searched. I do look forward to any clarification you can provide - and some more time playing with Logos.
