Here's a problem that has been intermittent and hard to nail down how to reproduce, but it's very annoying, and has been around since 4.0.
I'll be in the midst of doing lots of tagging in my Library, and I start typing something into the Find box to filter the library to find the next group of items I want to tag, when suddenly and without warning the focus simply disappears and the rest of what I type goes off into some black hole somewhere.
Here is how to reproduce it:
- Open Library to grid view in Browse mode.
- Select a group of several books, the more the merrier (e.g., 15-20).
- Add a tag to all of them in the info panel on the right.
- As soon as you see the "Updating library catalog. List may be incomplete" banner across the top, click somewhere on the rating stars to give all the selected resources the same rating.
- Now immediately click in the Find box at the top of the Library and type a random word (I used "this"), pause for a second, and then continue typing.
The focus has disappeared, and your typing goes nowhere.
