Fundamental Dictionary Problem with iPad app. Looks up wrong word

As the title says. This is an iPad updated to the latest OS. It went to the word “pavilion” even though the word highlighted was in the dictionary.

The book is listed at the top of the image. “After Virtue.”

My default dictionary on Verbum is the Concise Oxford English Dictionary. 

The version I use is Verbum 32.0.1 (0037). Apple shows no further updates.
