FACKBOOK DATA ERROR? What criteria was used to identify people tagged Proto-Protestant?
What is the criteria for being tagged as Proto-Protestant? I'm finding thoroughly Orthodox Dominican friars tagged as Proto-Protestant.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Can you provide some more context for this? What are you looking at specifically?

In Factbook, look at the record for Proto-Protestantism in the Authors section. What criteria was used to identify these people? Most of them seem to be misidentified. The "garbage" identification then appears on the individual person's record.

Thank you for pointing this out. I'm not sure how this grouping was assembled. I'll look into it some more. I see Francis of Assisi which is an obvious error. Do you have specific people that should be re-aligned?

Unfortunately, it is almost all of them - Angela of Foligno, Anselm of Canterbury, Bernard of Clairvaux, Bonaventure (a doctor of the church no less), Bridget of Sweden, Catherine of Genoa, Claire of Assisi ... there are a few I'd have to check on. It's easier to say that the list Wikipedia provides is a bit broader than I would list but I can make sense out of why they included them.

Hmm, I don't have a Proto-Protestantism record in my Factbook. Is that a Verbum only record?
I have an entry for Crypto-Protestantism, but it has diddly-squat in it.

Try just typing "proto".
I can't wait until we can get some improvements made to Factbook autocomplete...Andrew Batishko | Logos software developer

I came across this just the other day regarding Bernard of Clairvaux. I didn't look into it further, but I know he was a significant influence on Luther, and I assumed that was the reason (nevertheless it bothered me). It's not a good term.
