I began installation last night with the Logos 4 DVD. It's been stuck on "Preparing Library (Stage 1 of 3)" for 14 hours. Is this normal? Do I need to do anything?
Hope I attached the logs properly:

14 hours does seem a bit long, but there's nothing particularly unusual in your logs. What kind of hardware are you running?
David, thanks for your reply.
We're at about 16 hours now. Running a Macbook 2 GHz Intel Core Duo with 2GB RAM. Roughly 21 gigs of memory open.
About 2 hours ago, right after I posted my first message, I accidentally closed my Macbook, causing the internet connection to go dead for about 15 seconds. Would that cause any problems?

It shouldn't.
Thanks, David. So should I just let it keep running? Is there any point (e.g. 24 hours) where I should assume something has gone wrong and start over?
I wouldn't recommend starting over—certainly, if it's still preparing at the end of today, it would be a good idea to send some fresh logs so that we can ensure that everything is still moving along.
Would you mind uploading a screenshot of the Activity Monitor app with the Memory tab selected?
No problem. Here you are:
Here's an updated log if it helps. Now at 18 hours. 47375.Archive.zip
Now at hour 22.
Just an observation, I found my mac indexing with an extremely low portion of the available ram, almost as if the computer forgot what it was supposed to be doing. Is there a way to raise the priority of the indexing without quitting and starting over?
...btw I did end up stopping the index and starting over... It then finished in under 4 hours or so
Paul, pardon my ignorance but how do you start the process over?
as much as I cringed doing it and am not sure how it affects the current indexing files, I clicked on Logos to allow its bar to become active at the top of the screen and then "command+Q"'ed it! Then re-open Logos and type "rebuild index" in the command bar.
a list of other quick commands can be found here:

Got it. Thanks, fellas.
That probably works. You can also use "Cmd+Shift+click" on the Logos icon in the menu bar and "Cancel All", or just terminate the Logos4Indexer process from Activity Monitor. It's pretty good about cleaning up after itself when it shuts down.
