How Many Pages in a Personal Book

I know we covered this in another thread but I can't seem to find it. Is there a page number limit or recommendation for personal books. I am building a collection of sermons on Matthew and not quite half done but already over 1200 pages. Any recommendations?

I don't know, but since you can do personal books with multiple documents, why not make a new file for the rest of your sermons? If you try to compile it with both and have problems, you can just do it as two resources in a series.

The UBS Hebrew Dictionary (https://community.logos.com/forums/t/220076.aspx) has a Word file of over 4000 A4 pages and has no problems, so you should be right.

The Talmud Steinsaltz PB source (provided by Mendel Itkin) has over 12,000 pages and over 8 million words - Word takes its time to open the 17MB text file - and I don't find at the moment the PB source where Mark Barnes put in all of the Christianity-related pages on English Wikipedia which probably is even larger (and contained pictures, if I'm not mistaken).

In my understanding, Word will reach a size-related usability limit earlier than Logos, your project should be safe to just go on.

I have completed the personal book. I have one error.

[Error] Font 'Symbol' is not a valid font for use in resources.

Does anyone have a suggestion for fixing this? Thanks!

This error typically doesn't affect the PB in any way. I would ignore it.

You could try select all text in the document (Ctrl-A) and set the font to Times New Roman, but sometimes font formatting doesn't go away that easily (so in a smaller document I would select all, copy it and paste into a brand-new document - may work, but for 3000 pages it might get long in the tooth). Logos will actually use fonts despite the warning, or replace them with fitting ones if they are not there, so I don't think this error will cause problems.

You can use Advanced Find in Word to search by font. Hit the down arrow next to find, select "Advanced Find." Select the replace tab, then click "more", and "Format." Pick "Symbol." Now put your cursor in the "Replace with" field, click "Format" again, and this time pick a font like Times New Roman. Click "Replace All" and you should be good to go.
