BUG: Frequent Verse Box Fails

Hello there,

I noticed at some point (I think) in the last few months that the verse navigation box at the top of a resource (not the go box) doesn't respond as reliably as it used to. I think it is a bug of some kind.

It used to be that I could type a verse reference quickly, hit enter, and it would immediately navigate to the verse.

However, lately, it is a frequent occurrence that when I type in a reference and hit enter, the resource doesn't change at all; the text just returns to what it was before and the resource doesn't navigate away from the current location. In fact, it never navigates immediately any more; the only way I can reliably navigate via the verse box is to type in the reference, wait a second until the correct location pops up in the autoselect list and then hit enter. This seems to be a significant regression in functionality.

Am I the only one experiencing this? Could this be some sort of indexing issue? I'm running a relatively powerful machine (2019 16" MBP, Intel i9 processor and 32GB RAM) on the latest software (macOS 14.4.1; Logos 33.1.6).

Thanks for any help in trying to resolve this. It's a very annoying bug.

A number of people have reported this problem. It has been fixed in the Beta version of the software, and should be fixed when version 34 ships.

The only workaround is the one you discovered about waiting for the popup to appear.
