Is there a way to SHARE a collection of tags with others?

Tags can be used for SO many things ... and can be the result of a lot of (blessed) study-time. Most often, I think of them as "topical-chain" links.

I'd like to be able to SHARE that set of tags with others, not as an export-print doc with verse and notes etc, but more as a custom "dataset", much like we can now share custom Palettes.

Is that possible? If not, can we simply EXPORT the tags with the anchor info &/or notes to a file, then send the file to someone, such that they can then IMPORT it?

I take it from your response that it is NOT possible, within Logos' supported tools (local and cloud), to do what I asked.

I couldn't find what you showed a snapshot of (checked in Program Files and Program Data and Program File (x86), and even if I could, I wouldn't know how to share it.

The name of free tool is underlined. Double-click the Notestool.db to open in the tool. Select Browse Data and then select the Tags table. Use Shift-click to select multiple tags and then Copy. You use the Filter box to refine your selections.

No. See above response for typical browsing of *.db files. Don't use it unless you have a need to know, as with Jim's query above.

Sorry to bother you, but a non-techie person like me needs a little bit more help. Where can I find this tool?

I too have many Tags and I keep them in an Excel file. But I am sure I've missed a few. That is why this idea of being able to export is very attractive to me and, hence, I'm asking for details.

Before searching for and downloading the DB Browser for SQLite tool, I tried to FIND (via explorer) the Notestool.db file. The string that you provided … Logos\Documents\random\NotesToolManager\notestool.db was incomplete in that it didn’t start from the Root. I tried checking several places (also didn’t understand the italicized “random”). So, would you please clarify where that target file is located?

Also - my original question is how the subset of tags could be SHARED with another user. Is that possible and safe to do? If so, please share the steps required. Thanks.

Paste %localappdata%\Logos into File Explorer to get to the root Logos folder
Click on Documents
Click on the next folder name (which is a random generated name)
Click on NotesToolManager

You can share through a personal Faithlife Group at My Faithlife:

Click on the + sign
pick an appropriate category e.g. General
then follow the prompts

Once created you can Invite people to join or they can ask (depending whether you make it Public or Private)

What I don’t know is what “category” of document to share, that will contain all instances of a particular tag, or tags. The values shown in my screenshots of the SQLite Browser tool. Just copy and paste as you would from a spreadsheet column.

I am not sure I understand what this thread is really about. As far as I know, there is no way to share tags in a manner as with documents, etc. where another Logos user can just download the tags into their Logos app and have them immediately available.

You can share a screenshot (as Dave did above) or make a list of the tags and tag values you are using and then share these with the group members who then can use that information to use the tag values you are using in their Logos app as they tag resources or notes etc.

THANK YOU, Wolfgang. I understand your response, and my OP was in hopes of finding out differently. As the OP indicated, I was wishing for a way to "transport en masse" all the tags of a given type ... ie including their anchors ... to another user with just a few clicks ... so that those would then be active and available in their copy of Logos. As you can with custom palettes, etc.
