Hello,
I am using Logos4Mac Beta 8 and a typical two panels layout, with a book on the left side, and biblical text on the right side. During my study, I want to copy/paste excerpts from either biblical text or book to an external Pages documents. Unfortunately, copy behavior is not reliable.
What I do is select a passage in either biblical text or book, then hit Cmd-C or go in menu Edit > Copy. Then paste into external document. I often observe that the previous selection gets pasted, and not the new one I've just copied. After investigations, this happens to be linked with incorrect panel focus when copy/pasting alternatively from both panels.
How to reproduce :
1. Click in Bible panel to set the focus there
2. Select a passage with the trackpad - it is highlighted in blue
3. Cmd-C
4. Switch to Pages document
5. Cmd-V - excerpt is properly pasted
6. Switch back to Logos4, clicking on its icon in the dock
7. Immediately select a passage in the book in the other panel. Do NOT click in the panel first, immediately proceed with the selection - it is highlighted in blue.
8. Cmd-C
9. Switch to Pages document
10. Cmd-V - observe previous excerpt from Bible is pasted, not new selection copied from the book
Workaround
Copy behavior can be fixed by always clicking first on the resource tab (or anywhere in the resource panel), then making the selection.
Therefore this appears to be a bug linked to panels focus. It seems that the fact to select a passage in a resource does NOT properly sets the focus to that panel automatically, and Cmd-C fails to copy the proper selection.
(Copy behavior is also reliable when manually switching between resource tabs before performing the selection, since clicking on the tab selects the proper resource and sets the focus right.)
