Are these EBC same?

I want to know, there is only one EBC? Why the covers are different? Logos is selling the latest one?

BTW, according to bestcommentaries.com, most of EBC are very old, is it still worth to buy?

How you see EBC and WBC (I know WBC is more and more expensive, but worth to buy whole set? Unfortunately, Logos does not have single WBC book order.)

Nelson,  the EBC is being revised, but it is not yet complete.  The Amazon link is for the revised volumes that are out. For instance, the Genesis volume was only published in 2008. The EBC set that is available in Logos for $129 is the set that was published in the 70's and 80's.  That being said, I have used the EBC in paper form for sixteen years now and found them to be a very, very good commentary on the entire Bible. While some books are certainly better done that others, that is true with any set.  I bought them in Logos when they came out a few months back. They are absolutely worth the money.

As for the WBC, I also have used that set for many years in paper form. It is much more extensive than the EBC - thus the much higher cost.  They are much more technical and I have found them to be most helpful for background, form/structure/setting, and original language insight.  There is a much greater theological divergence in them than the EBC, which would be characterized as written from a conservative, evangelical viewpoint. Stil, they are a very valuable resource that I would recommend for any pastor who has had some seminary training and experience with the Biblical languages.

FYI, in the last year the WBC has been on sale twice for $399.  Save up your money and pounce when that comes around again. That's what I am going to do!!
