What's the most direct way to look up a Hebrew word from the BHS text in the HALOT panel?
I would try long-pressing the word in BHS and selecting the Copy option from the popup menu.
Then in Halot, tap the magnifying icon at the top of the panel and paste in what you copied from BHS
This includes verse information which you would need to remove - you can then select the Search - Inline option and I think that should get you what you want.
