I don’t know if this will translate to the Logos business world (I admit I'm clueless on things more than paying my monthly bills and the $450 a month I get for the youth ministry)...
But when Steve Jobs came back to Apple after his earlier departure, he pointed out how confusing the product lineup was. He then made his "famous" quadrant with the categories of portable and desktop and consumer and pro. The result was the iBook, the PowerBook, the iMac, and the PowerMac. (compare that to today's iPad options that are way too overlapping.)
With all my brains of wisdom, I drew this chicken scratch after giving the email sent out today about 30 second's thought.
Four quadrant for Logos: subscription, purchase, and minister, scholar.
I know these four words might not fit perfectly but the first two are pretty clear. the other two I thought that people who lead Bible studies and preach "simple country church sermons (like I do each week) are the minister and the scholar would be the graduate students and the professors and really smart pastors.
someone who is normal (like me) leading a small group and want a subscription. someone who is normal and preaching regularly might want to purchase. someone who is advanced (not me) and is a graduate student or Bible college student and might not be in the academic world for decades might want a higher package but at a subscription rate. someone who is going to spend their life writing books and teaching seminary might want a higher package at an outright purchase.
