Search for a Phrase?

Hi,

In Colossians 1 it talks about 'knowledge of his will'.

Is there a way to search based on the original Greek?

When I search in the ESV, Colossians is the only place those words are used together, but I wonder if they are used else where but maybe translated differently, hence thinking of looking in the Greek.

Any thoughts?

Many thanks,

Matt

Yes, but you need a Greek Bible for authoritative results. Open a Greek Bible and the ESV so that both are visible, and select "Text Selection" in the resource VF menu of both. Select the phrase in ESV and the corresponding Greek will be highlighted. Select the Greek text, right-click, choose Selection in the menu and run a Search.  I get Col 1:9 only.

You can run a Fuzzy Search in the ESV (select Fuzzy after a Bible Search), but "of his will" produced some interesting results.

You need to locate the Greek phrase in a Greek text

and then search that from the context menu using the bottom right option in the search submenu on the right

This suggests that the exact words only appear in the verse you were looking at
