Sometime in the 1980's or early 1990's I read a book that had a diagram of 3 concentric circles - one for the Old Testament and one for the New Testament. The innermost circles contained the Torah and the Gospels i.e. God speaks (or something similar). The outermost circles contained the wisdom books and Revelation i.e. individual response (or something similar). The middle circles contained the remaining books i.e. corporate response (or something similar). I'm quite certain that the author was Protestant, possibly Lutheran or other mainline Protestant. Yes, I know Nouwen uses similar concepts but in a quite different manner. Any ideas?
