General question on Collections
Is there a way when opening the Collections icon that it starts showing the OPEN tab rather than the NEW? Because Logos automatically creates a new collection and I don't want that. Unless someone has a better solution, I am all ears as I know there are a great number of power users I use to work with years ago.
Thanks for any advice.

Unfortunately, no.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Keep it in your layout to avoid creating a new collection.

The newly created empty collection should get removed when you close the Collections panel, so it shouldn't show up anywhere after that. Are you not seeing that to be the case?

It does get removed when the Collections panel is closed. All those deleted Unnamed Collection collections show up as deleted documents in https://documents.logos.com/ which bloats the number of items if/when I try to undelete a document/collection. I recognize I can use the filter to narrow the list though. Just strange that a new collection would be created each time the tool is activated when often I am simply wanting to tweak and existing collection.

Andrew, it is apparently removed when one closes the Collection function, but - at least in my case, and I get the feeling from others - I go in to look at my existing Collections the first option should not be "New" or at least an Option to allow me as the user to select if I want it to default to "New" or "Open" when accessing Collections.
Forcing someone to start with "New" is not helpful or intuitive. Intuitive would allow you to see what Collections you have because it you have a lot you don't have them memorized (at least I don't as it seems a waste). Then if you want to create a Collection then being able to select "New".
