Resource Bugs: No (Commentary) Type in Passage Guide

The following commentaries and bible notes do not have a (Commentary) "Type" associated. The first resource in the list has the biggest impact as it does not show in the Passage Guide at all.

Agreed. It has a Bible Commentary "type", but it is incorrect as it is not indexed by bible references. It should be type Concordance as it provides bible references for a topic.

I do not have these books of MacArthur, but they appear to be type "Bible Commentary", albeit the references are very broad and may not appear in Passage Guide unless you select one of those references. What do you see in Library, or their Information page?

This resource is inconsistent from most of the other Faithlife "All <blank> in the Bible" lists. For instance look at All the Meals in the Bible. It is type Bible Commentary and indexed by bible references. Messianic Prophecy should be the same given it is type Bible Commentary. I agree that if it is not fixed to be indexed by bible references then it should be fixed to not be a Bible Commentary "type". Concordance is probably the correct type, although other Faithlife lists that are not indexed by bible references (but should be!) are of type Monograph, for example All the Altars in the Bible.

They do appear in the Passage Guide, they are just are not tagged with either Commentary Era or Commentary Type and therefore fall under the "--" category when either Era or Type is selected. 1 & 2 Timothy is an exception which has a Commentary Era but no Commentary Type associated.

This does appear in the Passage Guide, but under the "--" category when Type is selected. The Matthew-John and Acts-Revelation books in this series show as Exegetical.

The issue I am trying to raise is an inconsistency in tagging within the Passage Guide for the resources I listed. My method may shed more light on how I arrived at the list.

I have a collection called Commentaries : Passage Guide (All) which includes all my resources tagged as Bible Commentary, Study Bible, and Bible Notes (what should show up in the PG) with the exception of Personal Books of those types. I then bring up the Passage Guide with this collection and select bible reference Genesis-Revelation. When I then select Type, the books listed in my first post show in the -- section. Ignoring the MacArthur Bible Studies, you can see the others in the list are all part of series in which the other books in the series are tagged with a Type. The MacArthur Bible Studies are a bit of an outlier. They are indexed by bible references but should probably be type Bible Study not Bible Commentary. Everything that is a Bible Commentary, Study Bible, or Bible Notes should have a PG Type associated.

There are too many inconsistencies with FL metadata in this series. All the Monographs are indexed by English headwords and should probably be type Encyclopedia.
