Notes rendered useless

There needs to be a way to turn off the save on every key stroke feature. When sitting in a Bible study I like to take a lot of notes.  However, with the save on every keystroke feature my typing can‘t keep up and everything is delayed in displaying.  When I type a sentence I it good be 15 or more seconds after I finish typing that it finishes, which means if I want to add to it, I’m not sure where I am. Taking my attention away from the Bible study.

This make the notes app useless on my iPad.  Would love to be able to turn that feature off.

    Hi JJ,

Admittedly I am using the Beta version of the Logos app (35.0.0) but I see no sign that it is saving at every keystroke.

Which version of the app do you have installed?

How much remaining storage memory do you have?

    tootle pip

I am using Gen1 iPad Pro. verbum 34.0.2.  For example, when I’m typing here there is no lag.  Now when I just tested using a new note, no lag.  The moment I went to the last note I was working on, a very long note, the lag came back.   Could this be an issue with the size if the notes?

Potentially - in that from time to time there are reports of lags with large notes. I don't know if there are any currently recognised issues.

When you say "very long note" what sort of quantity of data are you referring to?

Have you tried going into airplane mode before trying to update this large note? If so, did that make any difference?

Each week I try and do a bible study on upcoming Sunday’s readings.  I try and pull in from commentaries and create a summary for what I’ve found.  These notes can be pretty long.

On my iPad, I’ve tried airplane mode.  What I notice is the app tries to save often which is what is causing the lag.  If there was a feature to turn off auto save I think that would solve the issue.

I just tested this on my laptop where everything has been downloaded locally.  I first tested with with internet on, and lag was present as I could see it trying to save with each change.  I next tested it with internet off, restarted app, and lag still there.  Continued to try and save after each change.

They need a feature that when you turn the internet off that autosave feature is turned off.
