i noticed that the NASB has a brief outline of the chapter at the first of the Chapter. The KJV doesn't consistently have that.
Where would i be able to find/set up a something that could give that brief outline or summery of each chapter?
Hi Alan
I had a look at the NASB 2020 and can only see 'pericope' divisions. Are these the 'outline or summaries' you are referring too?
If so these are editors additions that appear in various translations. There are no standard places for the divisions nor standard wording for them.
I am sure that there is 'somewhere' a graphic or guide that sets out all the 'pericope division' in all the translations but I can't find it just now. :-(
The only way that you can read the various 'pericope headings' is to have those translations on your desktop as part of a linked set.
It's called Compare Pericopes and is part of the Passage Analysis tool.
HI Alan
MJ has hit the nail on the head.
Here is what it looks like for 2 Samuel 2 in a variety of translations.
Wow, thanks Mike and MJ. That is spot on.
Also i appreciate knowing the other choices under the hood. The love is in the details.
How do i add the KJV 1900 to my pericope sets?
I don't think this is possible as the KJV 1900 does not have pericopes. (At least not in the one I checked)
If you see differently, please post a screenshot
Thanks Graham.
I’ve tried adding a Greek text to this tool but do not know how to do so. Can someone walk me through it?https://wiki.logos.com/Passage_Analysis I read that but could not find out how to do it
One cannot add new data to the datasets. However, if you own a Bible in Logos that has pericope headings that doesn't appear in the selection list you can report it to Logos as a data error and it will be added.
Understood MJ. Sorry about that.
