The notes font text size was designed to be controlled within program settings as I understand it. Now if I open a different resource in the same pane/tile as the notes file I am using and radically change the scale on that resource, when I go back to my notes and continue to write in it, the scale of my notes changes to a larger size font than the notes that are already there. I suggest that the only way the font text size changes for notes is from controls in the program settings.
