BUG: Unusual understanding of sorting by price

The Logos storefront and I agree that when sorting by price - lowest first that the lowest priced item is shown first. Thereafter, I expect the second lowest priced item to be shown, then the third lowest priced item. Unfortunately, logos.com disagrees although I can't quite determine what it's doing ... (yes the numbers are for illustration purposes only -- it's not the full list.

Hi MJ,

You seem to be looking at the dynamic prices. The actual price for items 2 to 6 on your list is the same: $237.99. Sorting by price sorts by the full price, as though you own none of the resources. After the sort, they work out what you already own, and show you the dynamic prices.

Well, that is absolutely useless. What possible use is there for a sort on the price that you aren't paying? Easy to code - yes; useful - no. Forced by the store management software you chose - probably but it indicates a poor requirements document.

It would not be particularly difficult to code, if they were doing it in-house.
It is just a matter of the order in which various operations are done.

The problem is that they have made a business decision to no longer do it in-house.
They have chosen a reasonably good platform (Algolia), but one that is ill-suited to their business.
They've invested heavily in it, and appear to have decided to move forward, despite the problems.
Either they are working with Algolia to fix them, or
they have decided that the loss of goodwill from their top customers does not warrant it.
But they have not told us which it is!

I understand that they are in a difficult position.
I also understand that they don't want to lose face.
But I think that transparency would be wiser.
