Advanced Timeline omits a plethora of Factual Christian Historical Truths from its resources

The Advanced Timeline is anti-Catholic and is discriminatory in its plethora of omissions, myriad in measure, and, as such, is historically and theologically erroneous, false. How can anyone permit such anti-Christian revisionism in a Christian platform, ostensibly committed to Gospel Truth? What is Logos/Verbum doing about this grave injustice?

This is an outrage, and Verbum Clients should be incensed in righteous indignation at this plenitude of diabolical fallacies of omission. In the Advanced Timeline covering its chronological entirety, SEARCHING “Catholic” with all filters selected except “Places” (with only Rome as the solitary option), yields 60 events:

Clear all Filters >> FIND: “Council” and all the Councils - Ecumenical and Synodal - held by The Catholic Church populate but zero are labeled as Catholic in metadata and so don’t appear as being held by The Catholic Church nor are any of them associated with the respective Pope.

But when you check out the resources listed in the Timeline entries, you find Catholic resources among them. It is not a typo, it is a deliberate effacing of historical and religious Truth.

Clear all Filters, >> FIND “Ecumenical” yields two (2) results, neither Catholic.

It is commonly acknowledged in East and West Seven (7) prior to the 1054 Schism and The Catholic Church holds that there are 21 Ecumenical Councils, total.

My Library yields 5,171 results in 3,484 articles in 715 resources for “Ecumenical Councils” The Advanced Timeline doesn’t list one Catholic Ecumenical Council, when there were 21.

This incomplete list of around 2,000 Advanced Timeline Entries, all absent “Catholic” Tagging in the metadata INCOMPLETELY represents a massive omission of historical and Religious Truth. It is a crime against Truth and Logos/Verbum is obligated to remedy this horror in Justice in virtue of its Mission / Apostolate which it has taken upon itself - Biblical and Religious Truth. Note that any discrimination - including Religious discrimination - can manifest without intention for its effect. According to Western Secular Law, unjust discrimination is not contingent upon malice, but upon effect on the discriminated. Catholics and other Christians pay for the Logos/Verbum Information System Platform and its resources for Truth, not collective confirmation bias, accidental or otherwise. It is touted in every way, by every one, as the definitive source for Biblical and Religious Study and Learning. In that effort, Verbum was created for Catholic Christians. Logos and Verbum should accurately reflect Historical and Religious Truth to all Christians, period.

This type of search returns timeline events that contain the search term in its title - I'm not sure it would be helpful to have all titles that are applicable to different church traditions (if you will excuse the term) such as Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, etc include those names. Or are you suggesting something different?

Thanks for your response, Mr. Criddle. Catholic facts of Christian occurrence in people, places, things, and events should populate with the SEARCH query "Catholic". Hell, there are more query results for "Luther" than there are for "Catholic"!

Luther: 65; Catholic: 60 (should be thousands); Calvin: 44; Baptist: 44; Methodist: 22

As an example: An A.T.L. SEARCH for “ecumenical” yields all of two results, one incorrectly dating the range of “ecumenical councils" as ending in 787 when the entire Christian community acknowledged in act and deed the existence of Catholic-promulgated ecumenical councils post 787, i.e. everyone acknowledges the Second Vatican Council, citing it and calling for Catholic adherence to it; it even had six Protestant Participants along with Russian Orthodox attendees.

Also acknowledged as both existing and professed by many more, both in denial and tacit recognition. As well as many Jewish believers who hold Vatican II as Binding to Christians.

If a resource doesn’t have Catholic in an article Title (even if it is sourced from a Catholic labeled resource such as “A Catholic Dictionary”!), it should tagged as Catholic as a part of metadata’s datum and configured to be retrievable in an A.T.L. SEARCH query.

Curiously, the A.T.L. lists the Lexham Bible Dictionary as the reference to its “ecumenical councils” entry of 325-787. But the LBD has NO entries for “ecumenical councils” or “ecumenical” when SEARCHed.

How is Thomas More not tagged “Catholic”? Joan of Arc? Excommunication? Pope or Papacy? These omissions of Catholic Christian facts are discriminatory and revisionist omissions of Truth and must be corrected, all and every one. Ditto all other Christian Sects who object to this manifest censorship and sin of denial by omission of known Truth -- a sin against the Holy Ghost.

I will admit this type of language makes me much less likely to engage in conversation - I would ask you to moderate your language

But here there are many references to the person Luther which goes some way towards explaining these results.

I don't think that is what is happening here - it is referring to the idea that the concept of the Trinity was discuessed in a number of ecumenical councils up until 787 - and this is the reason the LBD is shown as the source for that entry (ref your comment below)

This would be quite a change to the way the timeline works - and presumably would need to be wider than Catholicism. For example, the entry Church of England Breaks with Rome would need tags for Anglican as well as Catholic.

If some such change were introduced I would think it best to have this as some sort of metadata-based search as opposed to a straight text search.

As a vocal Catholic on the forums, I disagree with you. I would not want to have "denominational" tagging cluttering my timeline. First, theologically, I like all Catholics, reject the concept of denomination. Second, with the inclusion of the Eastern Rite and Anglican-usage Catholics, tagging as Catholic becomes dependent upon having a level of understanding of Church history that few users have. Finally, there are those in the forums so know so little about Catholicism that they use Catholic as a synonym for "not what I believe". It is better to let such users slowly absorb actual church history without red flags to tell them to dismiss it.

However, just as it is appropriate for you to voice your concern, it is also appropriate for you to make a concrete suggestion on Roadmap | Logos and drum up support (votes) for your view.

Note: Papacy is both Catholic and Coptic.
