I have a 2 year bible reading plan I have been doing for about 9 months..

Today, I decided I wanted to switch to a different translation..  I thought no problem. Logos is smart enough to do this.

I went in and edited it. It took me like 5 seconds..

B U T

It reset my reading plan back to the beginning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   I lost 9 months..  Why in the world would it work this way??????  NOT good IMO..

So how can I quickly mark all my past reading so I am back where I should be?

Surly tell me this is easy to do..

(I have stopped using Logos as much as I used to over the years because of "little things" like this I have ran into..   I use a 100% free Bible App that is great)

Thanks in advance..  Sorry for my frustration..   I am not a PhD..

You can use the "adjust from here" to mark the readings complete.

The struggle is real. I have blown up more than one reading plan, but there are ways back!

I never do my Bible reading plans in Logos as it is too complex to make it work right.

Aman..   I believe Faith Life should create a "Simpler" version of Logos.

Maybe call it, Logos (non-PhD. Version)

And maybe price it thousands less.

Could not find  "adjust from here".

    Googled it

Search in Logos Help (I like to call it No Help)

I edited my reading plan and found no option.

I ended up slowly going day by day and putting a completed checkmark on each past day. Unless that is what you meant by  "adjust from here"

I worked in Software development for 30+ years (Senior Systems Analyst). Designing and writing many UI's.

I would NEVER create something like Logos..

In your reading plan, right click on the current date and you'll find "Adjust from Here"

Could not find  "adjust from here".

I don't really use reading plans. I had started trying to do so but never finished any.

So anyway I had a few OLD plans still in the system.

I pulled one up and played around trying to edit them.

What I found is, you need to load the reading plan and choose EDIT. Then you need to scroll to the last read section (as close as you can remember it anyway) and Right Click on that last read entry.

You can then choose Catch Up to Here from the pop-up menu and all of the previously entries will be marked as Read.

I know this does not help you at this point but maybe for the next time?

You may also notice that Adjust plan from here is also in the pop-up menu.

Thank you for this detailed reply..  I have filed it..

Not that anyone cares, but during my career (I worked for the DOD), I did not work with simple, easy systems and UI's. I worked with Analytics and Business Intelligence Systems (Oracle Hyperion).   Responsible for hundreds of millions of dollars for our company. High Stress. Hight Pressure

I had 10,000+ users company wide.

When a new project would start, I would go into the meeting with my team, and they got to where the first thing they would say was, "Yes, sir, we know.  KISS.  We will Keep KISS in our designs and minds this whole project.. lol

I did this for 2 reasons

    1. I did not want to get a Rep with my large users base that our systems were the sadio masochist systems for them to work with.

    2.  This was a selfish reason for me.  I did a lot of the support.  If you design your systems KISS, it will cut down on 95% of your support calls (Lots of times in the middle of the night) and Emails..

So you never saw this warning?

The reset seems unnecessary, but don't forget that there are differences in bible versification, inclusion of different books (e.g. Apocrypha) that could affect the original Readings. The initial advice was not correct, but it is simple to right-click and "Catch up to here" when you know how.

I designed the TOC wiki so a user would have access to documentation from the viewpoint of the App's menus and toolbars, including the Reading Plan.

F1 key is context sensitive and will open the Help file (Logos/Verbum Help) to the topic if done from your Plan.

The Help Center (the ? icon in the App toolbar) is new to v.35 and is getting better in v.36 beta.
