  1. sense fault in a machine: first used by Thomas Edison who referred to "bugs" as the little faults and difficulties encountered in his inventions
  2. sense fault in computer or its program; despite charming Grace Hopper story, this is an extension of the Thomas Edison meaning not the result of a physical moth in computer. These are reported with BUG: as the initial word in title.
  3. sense faux-fault in computer or its program aka a chair to keyboard bug. Also known as human error caused by lack of knowledge, unrealistic expectations, a slip of the fingers, assistance of the family pet ... These should be posted as questions but more often are reported under the misleading BUG:
  4. by extension, sense fault in data: this covers everything from typos to errors in text analysis reflected in missing or erroneous tagging. These are reported with DATA BUG: as the initial portion of the title.
  5. metaphorical sense fault in UI design as in "this bugs the ____ out of me" to which Logos staff respond "that is how it is supposed to work". These are reported with either ARGHHHHHHHHHHH or #(&*)*^*(^*(%(*&^% as the initial portion of the title. After an appropriate cooling-down period, these may reappear on the feedback site FeedBear.
