Thai font not showing in sermon slides

I use the Thai bible in sermon preparation. The autogenerate slides do not recognize Thai font and only produces squares with a cross in it. I have tried other Asian fonts like Chinese, which do not have a problem. I've contacted Logos two times before (about 2 and 1 year ago), they say they will look at it, but it has been very quiet since. Does anybody have the same problem and a solution? It would be so nice to not have to manually make slides in another program and let Logos do the job it says it should do.

    Greetings Sijmen

Welcome to the forums, there are many volunteers here who will be delighted to help a fellow user with Logos.

You might need to help us along a bit because I doubt that many of use the Thai fonts on our computer.

Please will you start by opening 'Font Book' and validating all the fonts there.

If the problem persists take some screen shots of the source and the resulting slide. You can attach them to a reply in in this thread using the paperclip in the tool bar at the top of the reply panel.

Here is list of fonts that should support Thai characters.

  • Thank you for this reply.

I have not been able to download all fonts. I do use a Windows computer though and it looks like some of the fonts are Apple only, but not sure.
To give you an idea of my 'problem' a screen shot below. The weird thing is that the Thai font does work in all of Logos accept the automatic dia's produced in the 'sermon maker'.

You are correct Sijmen; the screenshot was from my MacBook. It is a good idea to specify your OS either in your message or on your signature line.

The screenshot you supplied will no doubt help a fellow Windows user to help you troubleshoot.

The slides from the Media Tool in your screen shot are not generated locally so they are not dependent on the fonts installed on your system. The generated images will use the font selected in the dropdown (Museo Sans) which doesn't support Thai characters. The service responsible for generating those images has been updated and should fall back to a font that supports Thai glyphs now.

I'm guessing you are referring to "Sermon Manager" here as it uses the same service for generating the slides as the Media Tool so it should work better there as well.
