Can someone remind me? Are ALT keyboard commands available in MacOS?

I am working on expanding my use of top keyboard commands and can't remember where things stand with MacOS in regard to Logos specific ALT commands. Can some Mac Logosians guide me in the way? I know the work around for function keys, but this one is running away from me.

In general ALT commands do not work on MacOS but alternatives, for most, are available

Thanks. I had dug through the documentation and I was hoping to find a MacOS equivalent of Alt-A, for opening layouts. It looks like I am stuck.
