Visual filter for the content of Q
I was wondering whether anyone knows of a visual filter highlighting the content of Q. I know this might be complex since there are various reconstructions out there; perhaps the version of the International Q Project would be a start.

Hi Boris,
The steps would be:
1. Find or create a list of verses to be included in the Visual Filter. I found a list of the most possible Q source verses in
Guthrie, Donald. New Testament Introduction. 4th rev. ed. The Master Reference Collection. Downers Grove, IL: Inter-Varsity Press, 1996..
2. Select the text with the verses, right mouse click and select "Save as Passage List".
3. Create a new Visual Filter and type the verses from the Passage list into the Visual Filter and select the highlight you want and the bible/bibles you want to use. (I tried to copy and paste, but the format for the verses is very specific in the Visual Filter)
4. Open that bible and make sure the visual filter is selected to highlight.
You can do this for various resources that list possible Q sourced verses.
Hope this gets you started,

Thanks, that seems a way to go about it (though I am not so sure about creating a passage list first).
However, I was wondering about fine tuning this since not always an entire verse is associated with Q.
And finally, I was hoping something was already in existence - but that seems not the case.

John's advice is excellent and way faster than what I am about to suggest, but I think this would be a great use case for labels.
You could go through a resource of your choice and highlight each reference and then add the parallels as label attributes so you can mouse over and see them all at a glance. Labels are searchable, so with a little creativity you could do some interesting analysis. For example, a search for
label.Q:((luke:bible.esv:"Luke" AND matthew:bible:"Matthew") NOT mark.bible:"Mark")
would give you all tagged passages with a reference in both Luke and Matthew but not in Mark.
Since labels are tied to highlighting, they do not require a full verse. Once someone did it, they could share their notebook with anyone. I have never worked with group notebooks, but I assume this could even be assigned as a project with students each assigned their own portion.Using Logos as a pastor, seminary professor, and Tyndale author

There is no way in Logos for users to reference a partial verse. Logos would have to create the filter for it to be accurate.

Thanks for the helpful replies, Justin's advice seems a bit more involved but really a useful way to go about it. I might actually make this into a class project.

There's a simpler approach to this step.
In visual filters, just type milestone:passageList:"Passages in Q" (replacing Passages in Q with the name of the passage list you saved in step 2).

That's cool, Mark, I did not realize that was possible.

Mark, I thought there was a way to do this when I created the Passage list, but just couldn't figure it out. Thanks for showing us this!!
