    Now that you can see the 80% indicator, do you think it would be distracting for that to be there all the time? Or would it be best to always show current usage in Help/About, and only show it in the main nav when it was above 80%?

    I like this suggestion. Being able to view current AI usage in Help/About would be great. It certainly would be better than not being able to see it at all. Personally, I wouldn't want to see on the main page it until it hits 80% (but I don't really like seeing the refresh circle there either).

    Agree, I think Logos needs to really emphasize the AI searching and tools and distinguish how they are NOT like CHATGPT, Google and other AI search platforms.

    It does not. Smart Synopsis uses credits only when the synopsis is generated and displayed. The Smart Synopsis card also stays closed when you close it, to prevent unnecessary credit usage when you don't want it.

    That's great. Nobody will be complaining when they see their AI credits going up when they wake up in the morning. I don't see why this reason should prevent Logos from revealing our available AI credits at every point in time. 

    It doesn't stop us displaying the percentage used in the app, and we probably should do that. But it does make it difficult for us to put up a support page that says this is exactly how many credits each feature uses.

    I think it is better to have an effective support page that describes why that is basically impossible.  Thats why it's better to indicate

    I don't see why people would need exact numbers. If approximations (small number of credits/ large number of credits) are all that is possible, that's perfectly sufficient, along with explanations describing why there are fluxuations in the number of credits used and how users can follow their credit usage themselves if they so desire. Whether a user can use a given feature 600 or 700 times really isn't that important. But knowing that a certain feature might drain their credits after 50 uses would be helpful. It's gaining a general knowledge regarding which features should be used more sparingly and which can be used more heavily that is primarily of help.

    I appreciate your humor, and I thank you as well for pointing out my unclear communication. What I meant to say is that a user knowing whether they have enough credits to use a feature 600 or 700 times isn't that important. My point is that people aren't going to meticulously add up their credit usage one by one. What is important is to have a general knowledge of how certain features impact the total credit count, for example, so that users can minimize the use of more costly features if they expect to run into trouble that month.

    I don't think we are too far apart.  I think we both agree that the more informed a person is the better their decision making can be. Mark was explaining, further back up this thread, the difficulty with predicting token usage with any precision.  It is the same way with all AI service provision.  But as you say, knowing which ones 'cost more' and, as I would like Logos to include, having a meter that lets you see how you are going, will allow us to self-manage.

    I think that with knowledge and with the ability to measure most of us will be able to manage effectively over time. As Logos add more AI based features we will require a better ability to manage usage. Hopefully the competition in AI provision the costs will come down and I can talk to my books all day.

    Thank you Mark. I am assuming that people would be ok with getting information on APPROXIMATE AI credits being used for various use cases in an FAQ, but would like EXACT AI credits being used for each use of an AI feature at the personal level. So, please try and give our personal AI credit at any point in time and the AI credit usage after each use of an AI feature.

    I know Logos isn't huge on personalization options, but, personally, I'm grateful for the few that Logos does have. Some options seem like they wouldn't be too complex to add and maintain. For example:

    What about adding a toggle option in settings to permanently show/hide AI credits on the toolbar?

    I would appreciate it if such a setting existed as well for the sync circle. Personally, I find it distracting due to how frequently it syncs and spins. It pulls my eyes in that direction even though I have no desire to look at it.

    Toggle option is a great idea. Another idea is to show the AI credit availability only when the user has to use a AI tool. Even better...marry both ideas and give us a Toggle switch only when we use an AI tool.

    But I can tell you that today, if you used no other AI features besides smart search and smart synopsis, you could use them between about 85 and 213 times per month, depending on which subscription tier you have.

    what if you use all of them the first week. Is there no other option except to wait for three weeks for it to renew?

    Also, unused credits at the end of the month should roll over into the next month.

    And the top tier subscription should have unlimited credits.

    If you want a buffet, you should be willing to pay buffet pricing. The pricing may be too steep for people to digest.

    I don't have a dog in this hunt. I assume I have Translation credits but haven't a clue.

    But it does look like designing a car with no gas-guage ... instead a warning light. It presumes 'running out' is interesting.  I think iOS got it right on battery display ... a total, plus which app is the hog. Plan ahead.

    The only option is switching to a higher-tier subscription (which will have more credits). We may have some other options in the future.

  • this feature is long overdue for us that study daily, very soon I will not have to use ChatGpt to obtain quick answers about a passage.

    Please continue to upgrade the Logos software. Loving this feature, also I agree with the other Pastors and Leaders that this option should start a cross reference to our purchased library and secondly to other books.

    This is truly an amazing feature. I did two smart searches and was amazed at the results:

    1. What is the clausal structure of Habakkuk 3:17-19? and

    2. What literary features are there in Habakkuk 3?

    The results were stunning!

    This feature is definitely a game-changer.

    It would be really helpful to be able to restrict the AI questions to certain collections.  Is there are a way to do this?

    A Books search will run on only your books and from there you can filter however you want (by collections, authors, tags etc).

    The tool is very good! I am pretty sure others have mentioned this, but I am somewhat unsettled that the resources it uses for references are not my preferred ones. Yet it would not appear it's as simple as using a particular priority type, I don't think? Or maybe the evolution of the tool cold take the user to the next step - "OK, how do I find other resources discussing this same answer?"
