Does anyone out there have trouble running BibleSoft one touch discovery

I bought into this expecting to gain access to Spiros Zodhiates's First Corinthians commentary (16 volume set) which is not available in Logos

After purchasing and downloading  the above and trying to run the software the follow sign comes up "Cannot find required data file (joshua.dat)" and I have exhausted the limit of 4 downloads.

BibleSoft never answers my emails, so I am at a stalemate what to do. I would very much appreciate help in this situation.

That’s why I loved WordSearch because it offered a lot! When Logos bought WS they transferred all of my resources.  Too bad not all were put on sale for others to buy due to contractual issues.

    Shalom Geoff,

Very sorry to hear that you have this problem. There is another thread on this competitor and it appears that Biblesoft has been out of business for more than a year: https://community.logos.com/forums/p/216846/1262573.aspx#1262573

Yes, sadly, BibleSoft has gone the way of the Dodo Bird. I bought it to run alongside QuickVerse. (another one that has died)

Sometimes you can find 'unofficial groups' online that have found ways to keep a product like this going, but doing a quick Google search, I didn't see any. It might be possible to run a virtual machine based on an older version of Windows to keep it going, but there might be issues around license activation and maintenance with BibleSoft.

There is a pile of disks I have... one is for this software, one set for QuickVerse and WordSearch. They are all gone and my investment is mostly useless. We lost BibleWorks (which I nearly bought once) and we are all waiting to see if Olive Tree and Accordance can weather the storms.  Accordance was bought out by a new owner, and stalled with the launch of version 14 almost two years ago, in which they have not been able to fully deliver on its features.

The Bible software space has changed dramatically in 10 years, and I probably would cut my losses on BibleSoft. Personally, the only entity that has my confidence is Logos. Either pick one of the final ones that are still standing or go with one of the free products.

I used PC StudyBible for more then 20 years, before I found out about Logos.

When I thought about buying a new version ( I used 3.1 for a long time),
I did some research. And I found out, that many had problems with OneTouch and that Costumer Service was really bad.

So I stayed with the Offline-program V5. That works without problems.

Now I'm glad I found Logos! Although I really liked the icons... [H]

It is stunning that you can still buy from their website.

It is stunning that you can still buy from their website.

Given Jim Gilbertson's probable age, it may well be that the website is forgotten by those managing his affairs. It is supposition on my part, of course, based on experience not facts.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
