New, improved Logos forums, study bible builder and Chat GPT style AI tool in Logos

After each software release Mark Barnes, Logos Product Manager, Bible Study Tools, and Mike Brown, Logos Director, Customer Success, present a webinar in which they show off the new features.

In the webinar presented today there were a few notable comments made about future developments.

New, improved, forums are coming and may be implemented later in the year.

The bible study builder may be implemented in the upcoming version 37. Mark showed this feature off in the webinar.

A Chat GPT style tool is a feature Logos would like to implement, if they can create one that will provide responsible and accurate responses. There was no timeframe mentioned for this.

The popular perception of the performance of chat bots is much more positive than their actual performance. I am pleased Logos is acting in a responsible manner.

AI Chat works pretty good when 1) you have a good idea of what the answer should be before you start, so you have some idea of what parts of the results are usable. 2) Accuracy isn't all that important 3) Mutiple tries might home in on something helpful.

In Logos that means summaries and search might be enhanced by AI. I have found that to be true.

AI Chat is a pretty good idea generator. Pick and choose wisely. Realize that its biases may create idea erosion-trenches you don't want in your head. Keep all that in mind and never lose your situational awareness, triple check any AI responses you use with the Bible; then you can probably benefit from chat AI. I do.

Improved forum software will be nice. Maybe we could have a special subscription to use it and pay for it. Don't hit me! It was just an AI idea!

Bible Study Builder. Pretty good idea. I would use it. With some guilt, but I would. Takes most of the work out of actual Bible study. Look like a pro! Beat down feelings of hypocrisy and use it anyway, Because way down deep inside you are a pro. Once I got/get over the unease, I would like the Bble Study Builder a lot.

Some cool ideas! Keep them coming! We are processing, but in favor, mostly.

Eventually, perhaps (if the feature is successful). Initially, however, it will likely be pretty bare bones, like helping to formulate questions.

It looked more like the tool that lets you build your own workflow. When you enter a Bible book, passage, or pericope, it searches your resources for information containing questions.

You can select the ones you like in the builder and add them to your own workflow. On saving it you can use it like a workflow where you answer the questions or undertake the tasks.

At present, as Aaron said, it was very simplistic, but in the webinar they said it would be improved. As Yasmin said you can still watch the webinar online.

We've restricted publicity around these webinars during the early access period because we didn't want to users to become annoyed that we were showing off features that weren't available to them. Once we fully launch subscriptions in the fall, I think they'll be better publicized.

If I understood the answer in the Webinar - Android users will have to subscribe for access to Sermon features that will finally be added for those users?

Does that include those who already own the FFS, since we own the Features already? If not, can we Android users trade access that we already own for the iOS platforms for Android?

Also... we were told that there couldn't be an option for both toolbars, but Mark's presentation just showed that option in action.... Can that be left for those of us who do not find the "old" bar confusing?
