Opening just the reverse interlinear pane using the new toolbar

When using the current toolbar, there is an option in the panel menu to open the reverse interlinear pane. This just opens that pane without opening the inline reverse interlinear as well

With the toolbar, currently in beta testing, this option is not present in the panel menu and - I believe - is now an open under the Interlinear menu in the View menu

But we can't enable that option without toggling the Interlinear options button at the top which enables the inline reverse interlinear.

Is there a mechanism to just enable the reverse interlinear pane in this scenario?

I note that in the slightly different scenario below, toggling the button at the top of the dropdown will only enable the RI pane. But if both of them are turned off, toggling the button will enable the inline RI

Correct. But it doesn't need to be used when the resource toolbar option is more convenient.

And this where I get to calculate the claimed fewer clicks of this toolbar.

When toggling the option button at the top, the Inline RI is preferred:

when no Interlinear data is displayed
after the RI Pane is clicked off in its check box.

Which is similar to the way it works in the old toolbar.

But we could request that the RI pane be preferred instead of the Inline RI.

Otherwise, the toggle button remembers the option(s) selected in the check boxes.

That's terrible! What I used to be able to activate/deactivate with one click has now become two clicks. That's a step backwards. The interlinear panel is one of the features I use the most, activating/deactivating it frequently. With the factbook it's now also two clicks to activate/deactivate.

I hope they improve this when they finalize and release the stable version based on our feedback.

The suggestion I made earlier that we could add shortcuts so that they are always visible in the toolbar might be a solution if it works like the old interlinear and factbook buttons.

I think the toolbar is bad design because of the extra vertical space and the extra overhead menus which lead to extra clicks.
