Is anyone in contact with Rosie?

She was a valuable member of the forum and helped many people navigating Logos. I know she has taken breaks in the past (2011 and 2016), but her last post seemed kind of final.
I hope she returns someday.

She’s been fairly active recently. I was starting to wonder where YOU were! 😂😂😂

I will not say what I really think about the forum harassment that led to this. This is not the first valued member of the forum to be driven out.

WOW WOW 🤯 When was this posted? She’s a great woman! She’s part of the three tremendous women here: DMB, MJ and Rosie! Why would anyone harass her?

So who harassed her?
Is there a link to the thread?

It is human nature that the less secure you are in your beliefs (or the more extreme your beliefs), the more defensive the stance you take to support them - including shoving them down others' throats rather than peaceful reasoning. This is exacerbated in personalities that can't accept the possibility that on some issues they may be wrong, in training that is indoctrination rather than education, and in life experiences only in homogenous communities . . . Naturally, human nature being human nature, those most apt to be defensive offenders are the least able to acknowledge it. Rather, they complain everyone else is unfair or that their abusiveness is simply fulfilling their duty to correct error. It only takes a few posts by these people to poison a thread and become, or feel as if it has become, a personal attack.

I chose not to share it. The point I was making in reposting her post was that the actions of a few on the forums affect all of us. The details don't matter; what matters is that all beliefs and all people are treated with respect in the forums.

Found it.
Read it.
While there were a couple of zingers, I didn't think it got that badly out of hand. Hopefully cooler heads (on all fronts) will prevail. This group needs our Rosie. [:)]
Having come from a particular fundamentalist background, I hope folks know that when you post something that triggers a fundamentalist, they will indeed be triggered. We can't expect them to be patient with our posts if we can't be patient with theirs. And yes, they will respond theologically to an academic question...it's how they are trained. BTDTGTTS.
I completely agree that your (MJ's) post was constructive and a worthwhile attempt at mining resources for particular stripes within the faith. I was also not surprised that some here reacted negatively to it.

Even if they are on forum not has guidelines against engaging in theological discussions?

You aren't triggering someone with an online anger problem, the fault is with them. To treat them as if they can't help themselves is to enable them. Adults who can't moderate their own behaviour don't deserve the privilege of participating in the forum.

That was not her last post MJ, and nice job bringing this all back up again, when it had nicely died. You should know this is WAY in violation of forum guidelines. As an MVP I might respectfully suggest you just delete everything from your post down as the question was answered, and stop the critique that will continue to go on otherwise.

Forum Guidelines are not and have never been consistently adhered to and have not been consistently applied.... I hate to see Rosie take a break, but have done so many times myself - sometimes it's just not worth it.....

We clearly have not interpreted the exchanges in the same way but as I know that your interpretation may be true, I have edited my posts in a way that reflects that multiple interpretations exist.

I wasn't even sure which thread was in question, so I had to dig for it. I realised I was not aware because I tuned it out when it reached a certain point. Some modern forum software products allow you to 'hide' content because you think someone is purposely trolling or it is very unproductive. We don't have that ability here, so I exercise this function mentally. It is not just theological either. For example, for the most part, I have stopped reading threads on subscriptions, except new ones originated by management.
I have always appreciated Logos' light management touch to the forums. They allow the community to self-govern, which is the healthiest. Accordance has adopted a very heavy handed approach driven by the CEO, which has resulted in deleting posts that have expressed frustration and raised questions about the strategic direction of the product and even banning users. (Some of which are on these forums and are quite honestly great community builders)
I hope Rosie sees her place in the community here in the coming days. She is a great contributor.

I'm glad to hear this - that is what I hoped would happen.

I like that much of the management is not visible in the forums. There is at least one person who has become a valued member of the community who has admitted to more than one phone call from Logos. That is quiet management that disrupts the community less than freezing threads or deleting posts.

Ditto. I hope this continues...
Let's be honest. We are each passionate about this product and the things we work on. I remember a debate I entered earlier this year that got under my skin. I wished I had stopped about two or three responses before I did. LOL. 😜 Mea Culpa!
Additionally, writing online in a text mode like this can sometimes communicate intent poorly or be completely misread.
The bottom line is that we have a community here, and socially we can observe that from time to time we celebrate great community builders. Rosie is an example. Someone noticed she might not be present and that is one of the highest commendations she can receive in this format.

Two things I've notice about the forums:
1. Sometimes the words used in the forums are terse when they were not meant to be.
2. Terse words sometimes can be taken in a way that hurts, right or wrong.
Which implies... there is a responsibility of the poster to always be kind with their words... this is a public forum which we are allowed or have the privilege of using. Sometimes we forget that.
Also it implies (by the mere fact of being on the forum) that we use "Christian principles" when we do post, which I think some (myself at times) forget this also.
If we are trying to live "Godly lives" first...then that should dictate how we talk to others either verbally or text or email.
Just my 2 cents... which if you put about $2.99 with it, you can buy a cup of coffee in some places... [8-|]
P.S. I don't mind when someone disagrees with me.... but it is sometimes bothersome to me How they disagree with me.

My McDonald’s has it for $2.99 Large. I bought the Panera Sip Club for $119.99 a year and I’m saving since the monthly subscription is now $14.99! I can have unlimited coffee and fountain drinks and teas any day of the week 😋 Their Hibiscus tea is awesome once you add some sugar!
